1. Introduction

Entrepreneurs’ Organization Pune (“EO Pune”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the websites www.eopune.org and www.rie2026.com (together, the “Sites”), including all associated sub-domains and microsites (collectively, the “Platform”). We are committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of personal data collected through the Platform and in connection with our products, services and events (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, disclose, store and otherwise process personal information when you, an individual user (“you” or “your”), access or use the Platform, register for or attend any EO Pune event, or otherwise engage with us, our members, strategic partners or affiliated third parties.

By accessing or using the Platform, or by otherwise providing us with personal data, you acknowledge that (a) you have read and understood this Policy; and (b) you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, storage, handling, processing and transfer of your personal data as described herein. We may amend this Policy at any time in our sole discretion. Any changes will be posted on the Platform along with an updated “Effective Date.”


2. Definitions

  • “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • “Sensitive Data” means categories of data requiring heightened protection under applicable law (e.g., health data).
  • “Data Controller” refers to EO Pune, which determines the purposes and means of processing your Personal Data.
  • “Data Processor” refers to any third party that processes Personal Data on our behalf.

3. Collection of Personal Data

We collect Personal Data on the following lawful bases: your consent; performance of a contract; compliance with legal obligations; and our legitimate interests.

3.1 Account & Registration Data.

When you create an account or register for an event, we collect identifying information such as your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, chapter affiliation, dietary preferences, photograph, and any other data provided in connection with your account or registration.

3.2 Payment & Billing Data.

For any paid Services, we collect billing details including payment card information, billing address, transaction history and any data necessary to detect and prevent fraud.

3.3 Device & Usage Data.

When you access the Platform or use our mobile application, we automatically obtain technical information such as IP address, device and connection type, operating system, browser type, URLs of referring/exit pages, device identifiers, crash logs and usage analytics (including links clicked, features used and duration of engagement).

3.4 Communications & Support Data.

We collect any information you provide when you contact us via email, support tickets, feedback forms or surveys, including the content of your communications and any attachments.

3.5 Third-Party Integrations.

With your authorization, we may collect data from third-party services (e.g., Google credentials, document-sharing, calendar access). You should review those providers’ privacy policies to understand their practices.

3.6 Information About Others.

If you supply contact details for other individuals (e.g., guest invitations or referrals), you represent that you have obtained their consent to share such information with EO Pune.


4. Use of Personal Data

We process Personal Data for the following purposes:
(a) to perform our contractual obligations, including event registration, badge issuance and ground-transport coordination;
(b) to communicate event updates, program changes and operational notices;
(c) to deliver newsletters, marketing materials and promotional offers;
(d) to enable networking features, MyEO experiences and attendee directories;
(e) to improve and secure the Platform, diagnose technical issues and develop new features;
(f) to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements; and
(g) to detect, investigate and prevent fraud or other unlawful activities.

We will not use your Personal Data for any purpose other than those stated without obtaining your additional consent.


5. Disclosure of Personal Data

We may share your Personal Data with:

  • Affiliated EO Chapters for event coordination and membership services;
  • Service Providers performing functions on our behalf (e.g., payment processors, IT and email services, event management platforms);
  • Event Venues & Vendors providing hospitality, catering and transport;
  • Legal Authorities when required by law, court order or governmental request;
  • Successors in Interest iin the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

All recipients are contractually obligated to maintain at least the same level of data protection as EO Pune and to use your data solely for the purposes we specify.


6. Data Retention & Security

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required to satisfy legal obligations. Thereafter, we securely delete or anonymize your data. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures—such as encryption, access controls and staff training—to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, no security measure can provide absolute protection, and transmission of data over the Internet is at your own risk.


7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access your Personal Data and receive a copy;
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erasure of data no longer necessary or unlawfully processed;
  • Restriction of processing under certain conditions;
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
  • Portability to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw Consent for processing based on consent; and
  • Opt-Out of marketing communications.

8. Permissible Age

The Services are intended for individuals aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from minors under 18. If a minor accesses the Platform, it must be under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.


9. Cookies & Tracking

We employ cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to analyze Platform usage, remember user preferences and deliver tailored content. You may manage or disable cookies via your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may impair certain features. Our Sites use Google Analytics and LiveChat Inc. cookies to function and improve user experience.


10. International Transfers

Your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside India, whose data protection laws may differ. We will implement appropriate safeguards—such as standard contractual clauses—to ensure the protection of your data in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

We reserve the right to amend this Policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting an announcement on the Platform or sending an email, and by updating the “Effective Date.” Your continued use of the Platform following any amendments constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.


12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra.
